A nice and less spicy side dish for roti, poori and dosa is Bombay Chutney or besan chutney. Making it is very easy and takes very less time to cook and preparation and needs very less ingredients.

Ingredients:
- Bengal Gram Flour/Besan - 1 cup
- Onion - 1 small
- Green Chillies - 1
- Curry Leaves - 5 to 7
- Salt - to taste
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Oil - 1/2 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
- Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Procedure:
- Slice onions in length wise.
- Slit green chillies.
- Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
- When they start spluttering add onions and green chillies.
- Add salt, turmeric powder and pour 2 cups of water.
- Allow this to boil, meanwhile mix bengal gram flour/besan in cold water.
- Pour the above mixture in onions. Mix well. Switch ff the stove.
- Serve bombay chutney with dosa, roti and poori.
- The chutney should be in pouring consistency, once it cools down completely, it thickens.
Nice recipie. I did some variation to this, I added little hing, ginger, cloves, cinnamon and few tomatoes also add coriander leaves when the curry cooked just before switching off the stove. It tastes awosome.
